Christmas – New year’s day :
The preparation for Christmas and New year’s day began very early. The white washing of the houses, their cleanness, was on daily order.
What distinguished these days was ‘Santa claws’. They threw a leaf of olive in the turned on coals and they said "Santa claw my king reveal to me if he/she loves me." If the leaf of olive sprang in the coals, the answer was positive. If it was burned without springing, then the answer was negative.
